SeaFrance English Channel ferry services halted as workers strike

SeaFrance cross-channel services are set to be suspended for a day tomorrow (Friday 16 October) as workers strike in protest over job losses.

Crossings between Dover and Calais will stop temporarily and are due to resume again on Saturday.

The French company announced in February it planned to cut up to 650 French staff following the economic downturn and a "steep fall" in the cross-Channel freight market.
