Horse rescued from frozen ditch

Firefighters have hauled a shivering horse to safety after it became stuck in an iced-over ditch near New Romney.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service's animal rescue unit from Faversham was called to the rural property in Brenzett.

Two crew members wearing dry suits attached lines around the four-year-old mare named Patch,  and pulled her up the bank.
