The local NHS trust is to issue guidance to staff about the use of social media  after an assistant director was reported to have written on a social networking website that her job involves 'bullshitting'.

Caroline Davis, who is an assistant director of the Eastern Coastal Kent Primary Care Trust reportedly wrote on the Friends Reunited website: “I now live in Dover, where I work for the NHS, 'bullshitting' for a living, no change there then.”

A spokesman for the trust said: “We are aware of the situation and are following an internal process with the individual concerned."

The trust, which has a budget of more than £1billion, serves more than 700,000 people living in Shepway, Dover, Ashford, Canterbury, Swale and Thanet.
