93% of Dover district car parks are now recognised as safer places to be after more special awards to promote safer parking areas were presented to the council.

The latest awards for Victoria Park and Park Street, Deal bring the total number of areas accredited with safer parking status across the district to 38.

Park Mark is an initiative of the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) and is managed by the British Parking Association. It is aimed at reducing crime and the fear of crime in parking facilities.
