Woman's body discovered in country park

Police believe a woman reported missing from Old Wives Lees near Canterbury earlier this week has been found dead in Herefordshire.

47-year-old Caroline Rickards went missing on Tuesday morning (5 August).

Officers from Kent Police conducting the missing person enquiry worked with officers from West Mercia Police after lines of enquiry started to emerge in the Herefordshire area.

Officers searching an area of Queenswood Country Park visitor centre near Leominster in Herefordshire discovered the body of a woman on Thursday afternoon (7 August).

Formal identification and a post mortem examination are expected to be carried out later today.

Police believe there are no suspicious circumstances.
