A 9-year-old girl from Deal has been left housebound after her wheelchair was snatched from the garden.

Shannon Flower has learning difficulties and needs the wheelchair so she can leave the house.

It was stolen from the front garden of the property in Mill Road, Deal at some time between 2.00pm on Sunday (3 August) and 11.00am on Monday (4 August).

It has a purple frame, a multi-coloured seat and the words 'Blade Plus' written on it.

Detectives are asking for anyone who saw anything suspicious to contact Kent Police on 01304 240055. Alternatively if you have information about this, or any crime, call Kent Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. Your anonymity is guaranteed.

Update: The wheelchair has now been recovered.
