Community Centre Trustee resigns

The webmaster of a local news and information website has resigned as a trustee of the Hawkinge Community Centre charity.

Terry Scott, who has been webmaster of the Hawkinge Gazette and Channel Coast News for nearly 10 years said in his letter of resignation that he had reluctantly come to the decision due to possible conflicts of interest.

He wished the new trustees well in their endeavours to turn the fortunes of the ailing Centre around.

Mr Scott said: "I have spoken to the Chairman of Trustees, Tony Hutt and offered assistance with publicity, but I explained that the Gazette must stay true to its principles and remain  independent."
