A security guard may have lost the sight of an eye after the man was hit by an egg in Folkestone.

The 46-year-old was standing outside the Co-op at 66 Cheriton High Street, Folkestone, just after 9.15 pm on Tuesday 29 July when the incident occurred.

An egg was hurled from a car, which struck the guard in the eye and caused the globe to perforate. He has had an operation on the eye but will not yet know if he will regain his sight. He remains in hospital.

A witness believes the egg may have been thrown from a blue car, possibly a Renault, which may have a loud exhaust.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Detective Constable Mel Avory on 01303 850055.

Alternatively if you have information about this or any crime please call Kent Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. Your anonymity is guaranteed.
