Police are appealing for information and witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision today in Hythe.

A motorcycle was involved in a collision with a car on London Road, Hythe just after 7.50am this morning (23 July).

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, the driver of the car is not thought to be injured.

The road remained closed until the afternoon while forensic and collision investigators completed their investigation.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or the events leading up to it is asked to contact the serious collision investigation unit on 01622 798538.

Police have not yet released the name of the motorcyclist.
