Memorial to a little girl - (photo)

The family of little Paige Brown, who died on New Year's Day, planted a cherry tree and unveiled a plaque in her memory at a moving ceremony in Canterbury Road, Hawkinge yesterday (6 June).

Paige, died tragically on New Year’s Day after becoming entangled in a hair-band hanging from a hammock where she kept her toys.

Paige's parents Phil Brown and Lorraine Ford were joined by family and  friends, the Chairman and Vice Chairman of Hawkinge Parish Council,  Cllr David Callahan and Cllr Tony Hutt, Revd Rob Grinsell and representatives from the Hawkinge Partnership at the tree planting ceremony outside Hawkinge Village Hall.
