Touch screen is a turn off for planners

Have your say!

Dear Editor,

The Hawkinge Gazette online and its readers can certainly sit back knowing this website played its part in publicising the monstrous touch screen application which was rejected by Shepway District Council on Wednesday (21 May).

It is not a victory — commonsense has prevailed.

Thank you to the Hawkinge Gazette readers for their keen interest in this unacceptable proposal, now disposed of.

The 1885 architect of the Lower Leas Lift building, Reginald Pope, is once again resting in peace!

Can one suggest that this spare touch screen device now be located outside of George’s House in the Old High Street, the headquarters of Strange Cargo?

Robert Mouland
