Four suspected drugs smugglers are being questioned by police after being arrested after landing on a beach near Folkestone.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police and the UK Border Agency intercepted an inflatable boat, believed to have come from France, on Friday (16 May).

A search of the boat and surrounding area led to eight holdalls being found in a nearby lock-up container.

They contained substances thought to be drugs.

The four men are being held at Ashford police station.
