Residents will be able to have a say in the long term future of their area at special meetings held this month.

Plans for the next 20 years for Dover District will be the subject of two meetings as part of the series of Neighbourhood Forums, run by Kent County Council, Dover District Council and the Town and Parish Councils.

The Local Development Framework (LDF) will be the focus of two Neighbourhood Forums meetings: the Joint Dover Neighbourhood Forum (covering West, North and Town) on 9 April at Dover Town Hall from 6.30pm; and the Joint Neighbourhood Forum (covering Deal, Walmer and Sandwich) on 16 April at the Landmark Centre, Deal, from 6.30pm.

These meetings will help residents understand the LDF process as part of a wider major consultation. Feedback forms collected at the end of the night will be used as part of the consultation process.

For more information on the LDF consultation, including special exhibition dates, please log onto the Dover District Council website at www.dover.gov.uk

Capacity at the venues is limited and we will allocate places on a first come, first served basis. We do not want to exclude anyone from coming to these meetings, but it may not be possible for everyone to take part. It is therefore asked that on this occasion, anyone interested in attending registers with Louise Bolton, KCC Community Liaison Manager. To reserve a place at one of these meetings (please specify) please contact Louise.Bolton@kent.gov.uk or telephone (01622) 221947.

Leader of Dover District Council, Cllr Paul Watkins said: “The Local Development Framework will provide a positive look for our communities as we try to plan and visualize the District’s potential for the next 20 years. This is an important and bold project and we want all residents to get involved. The Neighbourhood Forums provide that opportunity for people to find out about the LDF and help shape change and capture a prosperous future.”
