Claim that parish council are blocking improvements

Have your say!

Dear Editor,

Re: Parish council special meeting called to debate football plan

Yet again the parish council are blocking anything that will improve the local community.

A meeting where the people of the village are not allowed to comment or speak out yet again shows the contempt they have for us.

They should all think about resigning, unless it is more houses that the village does not need they are not interested.

They go on about community spirit in one breath and with the next do their level best to stifle it. It is about time they started acting in our interest and not developers.

I agree with everything RT commented on in his/her recent letter. What facilities have been put in place for all the Villagers, ie public seats, tidying up the forecourts in front of the shops, getting a meeting place for ALL the teenagers, just not the ones who are interested in Football ! On the field near me teenagers meet in a brokendown old shed as they have nowhere to go. Why isn't the Leisuredrome used for them, it is not 'POSH' like the supposedly 'Community' Centre and would be ideal for them and is what "The Few" fought and lost their lives for, the future of us and our children, not just people who are interested in football.

In reply to the Hawkinge Pigeon, as the PC will not let the community discuss anything (we are obviously not intelligent enough to understand any thing that affects us) we will never really know. If you look at anything that is suggested to help or improve the community Especially the younger members it is ignored or meetings held in private. So much for a democratic society. Areas that were put aside for reacreational use now being sold off for housing a community centre that the community can not use and a lot of people moaning that the teens of Hawkinge walking the streets (where are they ment to go, oh yes I forgot there is no where for them to go).

Repairs And Maintenance!

Ever thought of doing it yourself? Then demand the costs be deducted out of your Council Tax Bills.

The landlord (YOUR COUNCIL): is required by law to look after the structure of the building, including outside fittings (gutters) and essential services (heating appliances, sinks, baths, toilets and the water, gas and electricity supplies.)

Sounds fair to me!
