Council tax rises by 4.3%

With Council tax bills now popping through local letterboxes, Dover District Council has confirmed Council Tax for the district for a Band D property will be rising to £147.77.

The average total bill for a Band D property in Dover District will be £1,383.74, an increase of £57.30 or 4.3%.

The total bill includes the element of Council Tax for Kent County Council (£1,001.79), Kent Police Authority (£128.25), the Fire Authority (£63.81), Dover District Council (£147.77) and an average Parish precept of £42.12.

The element of the Council Tax bill for Dover District Council is increasing by 4.95%, representing a rise of £6.97 per year, or 13 pence per week, for Band D properties.
