Work begins on Hawkinge roads improvement scheme

The long awaited improvements to Canterbury Road, following the opening of the Hawkinge relief road last year will begin next week.

The work scheduled for the week commencing 11 February 2008 is expected to take up to ten weeks to complete.

There are to be speed limit gateways, kerb extensions, bus stop improvements and junction modifications through Hawkinge village.

It is being carried out to improve vehicle priorities and to encourage use of new relief road around Hawkinge.
