Appalled over Battle of Britain 'fun day'

Dear Editor,

Re: Battle of Britain 'Fun Day', not in my name

I have just come across this article whilst scanning local news and find I agree with the sentiment that Hawkinge/Battle of Britain 'fun day' do not sit easily together.

I am currently writing a book on the Battle and am appalled that leadership on this issue will appeal to a 'fun' day.

A Battle of Britain theme day would have been more appropriate.

Let these men never be forgotten.
