Two men had a lucky escape when their light aircraft crash landed in a garden near Lyminge.

The Cessna 172 came down shortly after take-off from Rochester Airport on Saturday (23 February).

Emergency services went to the scene at the property off Stone Street, in Farthing Common.

Both men were taken to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford after the incident and treated for minor injuries.

A Kent Police spokeswoman said the pilot was from Maidstone and the passenger from Cranbrook.

The Air Accidents Investigation Branch has been notified.
