The Annual Meeting of the Hawkinge Partnership is to be held on Saturday 8th March 2008 from 1.30pm to 4.00 pm at Hawkinge Community Centre.

The Partnership gives villagers the opportunity to have their say and to work with public service providers including the police, education, health, social services, parish, district and county councils to influence and improve local needs.

The meeting will outline plans to tackle important issues for the year ahead.

All Hawkinge residents are invited to attend and they can also play their part by registering their votes for who they would like to see represent them on the Partnership Board.

Residents can confidentially cast their votes from Monday 25th February until Friday 7th March at the Hawkinge Community Office in Canterbury Road or on the day of the meeting between 1.30 and 3.00 pm at the Community centre.

There will also be an award ceremony as well as displays and entertainment from local schools, clubs and groups.

The outgoing resident Chair of The Partnership Board, Richard Jones said: “An enormous amount of hard and fruitful work has gone into helping to both build and establish the partnership on a firm footing. I hope that many residents turn out to vote and I look forward to welcoming them to the Annual Meeting”.
