Port strike action called off

A series of strikes planned by workers at the Port of Dover have been called off as talks continue with employers over privatisation plans.

Negotiations between the Unite union and senior management at the port were held on Thursday and Friday of last week, in a bid to settle the dispute.

Both parties issued a joint statement saying that further talks would continue this week.
