Police helicopter used in search after serious assault

Kent police have arrested two men following a serious assault on Boxing Day (26 December) at around 9.00pm in Crete Road East, Capel le Ferne.

A 61-year-old local man was assaulted by two men and sustained serious injuries.

He was taken to the William Harvey hospital where his condition was described as stable.

Officers commenced a search for the two offenders, which involved the use of a police helicopter.

Two men, aged 29 and 27 were subsequently arrested and bailed until (4 February 2009).

Police have said no one else is being sought in connection with the incident.
