Police are appealing for help in finding a pensioner who went missing after setting off for Folkestone.

Derek Eldridge from Beckenham, Kent was last seen at around 4pm on Christmas Eve when he left home to visit his sister who lives in the town.

After failing to arrive at her Folkestone home, she raised the alarm later in the day.

Mr Eldridge is white, of slim to medium build and usually wears a suit.

He is 5ft 10in tall, with grey hair and a grey moustache and wears glasses that often hang around his neck on a chain.

Mr Eldridge suffers from diabetes and may have memory loss.

Anyone with information is asked to call the control room at Bromley on 01689 891212.

UPDATE:- We are pleased to report that Mr Eldridge has been found safe and well.
