It has been revealed that a new overnight lorry stop in Dover, with washrooms and hot showers, will be opening in January 2009.

This new HGV stop, in Menzies Road, Port Zone, is just three miles from the port, and will be able to cater for over 100 HGVs and other types of vehicles.

It will have an American-style diner and  a drivers’ shop.

The secure overnight stop will have CCTV and an automatic number plate recognition system.

Neal Williams, director of owner, Priority Freight, believes that transport managers had always wanted and still want the peace of mind provided by a completely secure and safe site, with the utmost facilities for their HGV drivers.
