Ten people were treated in hospital after breathing an unknown substance as they watched a  band in Dover.

Following reports of people fainting and feeling ill, fire and ambulance crews from Dover, Folkestone, Whitfield and Deal were called to the King's Hall, in London Road at 10.30pm last night (13 December).

The building was evacuated and some guests were given oxygen but others needed hospital treatment for suspected carbon monoxide poisoning.

About 100 people were at the event where the Jive Aces were performing.

An investigation has been launched into the cause of the incident, which is believed to be linked to a leak from a gas appliance in the building.
