Car bomb alert in Dover

An army bomb disposal team was rushed to Dover last night (11 December) after police were alerted to a suspicious car parked close to the Territorial Army Centre in London Road.

Roads were closed in the area and residents of nearby homes and shops were evacuated whilst explosives experts carried out a controlled explosion on the vehicle.

It was later reported that the car did not contain any explosives.
