Folkestone Camera Club meeting - 27 October 2008

Monday 27 October saw Mr Frank Page LRPS LMPA from Staplehurst Camera Club, returning to our club to judge the second digital image competition of the season.

Frank is a very competent photographer and Judge. He had a hard task ahead of him as there were over 70 images to comment on ! He, however managed to give good constructive comments on how we can improve our photographs and his results were as follows:- (marks out of 20)

On Monday 3rd November we are hosting a ‘Battle’ of Prints and Digital Images with Gateway and Rye Camera Clubs.This is followed by PRINT COMPETITION NO 2 on 10th November, and on the 17th Dr. PETER BRANDHAM “CACTUS COUNTRY – USA”

One of the top botanists of Kew Gardens takes us on a mission to the USA.

On Thursday 13th we will hold our monthly Audio Visual workshop, where members can learn how to plan a sequence of digital images set to music or documentary, and on Friday 21st November our monthly Practical Evening will be held, when members practice with the Studio Lighting, receive guidance on their cameras and Photoshop, which is an informal evening.

In addition to the above, we now ‘get-together’ at a local location once a month, to photograph various topics with guidance from our more experienced members. These ‘mini outings’ have proved very popular and the next one with be a ‘night photography shoot’.

Meetings are held at the St. Georges Church, Audley Road,.
