The fourth Hawkinge Community Litter Pick will take place on Saturday 18 October starting at the Community Centre in Heron Forstal Avenue at 10.00am and finishing with a free buffet lunch at midday.

The last litter pick was in July and the hot spots were around Heron Forstal Avenue, Page Road and Kettle Drive. A total of 12 bags of rubbish were collected, made up mainly of drinks containers and snack food wrappers.

Tanya Clark the KCC Community Warden thanked the Hawkinge Partnership for their continued support of the event and added, “having frequent clean ups like this makes people think twice before they drop litter again, so the area stays clean and tidy for much longer”.

All ages and abilities are welcome to the join Tanya in the litter pick including groups and children (who must be accompanied by a responsible adult).
