Lydd airport boss Zaher Deir has quit after a boardroom bust up.

Managing Director of London Ashford Airport (Lydd), Mr Dier, resigned due to differences with the shareholders and a member of the board of directors.

Under Mr Deir, £25 million has been invested in upgrading the airport’s facilities.

There are also plans in the pipeline for a new terminal building able to handle up to 500,000 passengers a year and a 294-metre runway extension with an additional 150-metre starter extension. The decision is expected shortly.

A replacement for Mr Dier has not yet been announced.
