A top cruise line company has cancelled its 2009 European summer schedule from Dover's Cruise Terminal, blaming "current market conditions".

Carnival Liberty

Carnival Cruise Lines', Miami-based Carnival Liberty was scheduled to move to Dover in spring 2009 for cruises to Northern and Western Europe, but will now remain in Florida to operate year-round Caribbean cruises.

The decision was based on "current market conditions, continued economic uncertainty and high air costs to Europe which impact US visitors wishing to cruise in Europe", the line said.
