Residents in Hawkinge have been getting advice about keeping safe this autumn.

Neighbourhood Watch and Parish Liaison Officer Sally Coleman, Community Warden Tanya Clark and PCSO Sarah Wallace

As part of the Safer Autumn campaign PCSO Sarah Wallace, KCC Warden Tanya Clark and Neighbourhood Watch and Parish Liaison Officer Sally Coleman have visited a coffee morning at Hawkinge Community Centre.

They have given out leaflets and spoken to the residents about keeping their homes safe, especially with the clocks going back at the weekend and the longer nights.

They have also promoted the 'No Trick or Treat' card for residents who do not wish to be called on Halloween night.

Safer Autumn leaflets have also been given to schools with advice for children on staying safe and respecting others.

Shops in Shepway are supporting the campaign by not selling eggs and flour to youths in the run up to Halloween as they are sometimes thrown at people and property.

Residents who would like a copy of the No Trick or Treat leaflet can download it from the Kent Police website: www.kent.police.uk
