More people should use village litter bins

Have your say!

Dear Editor,

Congratulations to KCC Community Warden Tanya Clark for organising another successful 'litter pick' in Hawkinge.

The sun shone, the volunteers turned out and the village looks much more spick and span.

I know there have been complaints about the litter outside Tesco and I certainly found a lot of Tesco receipts along Canterbury Road but in fairness to the shop there are two litterbins right outside the store; we just need more people to use them!

On the positive side it was great to see the eco warriors from Churchill school join the 'litter pick' in such numbers.

Well done and thank you to all who took part.

Susan Carey
County Councillor
