Freedom Pass increases bus ridership

Dear Editor,

Re: Stagecoach respond to overcrowding with relief coach

I am pleased to report that Stagecoach Buses have now responded to the overcrowding problems on the No. 16 bus.

Kent County Council has been in touch with Stagecoach about the bus overcrowding on the No. 16 bus.

Stagecoach confirms there has been some overcrowding but that it is now 'confident' there is enough capacity in the right places.

The Freedom Pass for 11 - 16 year olds has been very popular but as it covers all bus routes it's only when school term starts that it's clear whether there are enough buses.

I raised the problem of the No. 16 bus as soon as it was raised with me and I am happy to have confirmation that an extra bus has now been provided.

County Councillor
