Drivers are ignoring 'road closed' signs

Have your say!

Dear Editor,

Horn Street is closed for 12 weeks due to water main replacements.

There are signs all over Horn Street at the junction with Seabrook Road and the Tesco end of the road.

As you can see from the pictures little notice is taken of the signs.

Last night (Friday January 4th) in the early hours of the morning someone drove through all the barriers waking up local people.

The barriers have been replaced but the residents are waiting to see how long before they are driven through again.

A person at Dover & Folkestone Water Co. said the police had been informed but the traffic still comes down. One wonders whether drivers should be driving if they cannot understand Road Closed signs.

I found the signs confusing. Maybe there should be a rethink. I don't use the road regularly and probably the writer has that advantage over me and other confused drivers
