A Holocaust Memorial Service at Pent Valley School, Folkestone this evening (28 January) was attended by pupils from Folkestone School for Girls, The Folkestone Academy, Pent Valley Technology College and the Harvey Grammar School together with representatives of groups from across Shepway.

The service, organised by Folkestone Town Council, featured music, dance, drama, readings and reflections of the Imagine theme with performances by the four local schools and the lighting of a candle of hope by members of the local community.

Holocaust Memorial Day commemorates the lives of those lost in the Holocaust and marks the anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi concentration camp Auschwitz-Birkenau.
