Confusion over existing footpath

Dear Editor,

Re: Killing wood footpath outside buffer zone is dangerous

There is confusion over definition here.

I call "the existing footpath" the one that had been in constant use for very many years.

Because it has been fenced off does not mean that it does not exist.

I can still see it on those occasions when I stagger along a bumpy strip of KCC land that was stripped of vegetation without consulting the Parish Council or the footpath users association. This is unfit for purpose as a footpath. The qualities that were listed are not being demanded as something new because they already exist along the traditional route.
