A dog stolen from outside a Hawkinge shop has been found in Erith on New Year's Eve.

The dog, Tobi a distinctive black and white Saluki, was tied up with three other dogs outside the Tesco store in Canterbury Road when he was stolen between 9.45 pm and 10.15 pm on Monday 17 December.

Tobi was re-united with his owner on New Year's Day.

Earlier in the month another cream-coloured Saluki Lurcher was taken from the back garden of a Maidstone home.

A police spokesman said: "The thefts could well be connected."
