Villagers joined with friends and family of four-year-old Paige Brown at her funeral today (18 January).

A white, horse drawn hearse left her home in Blenheim Drive, Hawkinge on the short journey to St. Luke's Church in Canterbury Road where the service was conducted by Rev. Rob Grinsell.

Her parents Lorraine Ford and Phil Brown led the mourners.

Paige tragically died on New Year's Day after accidentally becoming entangled in her hair band whilst playing in her bedroom.

A trust fund is being set up in Paige's memory.

The money raised will be donated to the Kent Air Ambulance Trust, whose paramedics flew in on New Year's Day and tried to save her life.
