Neighbourhood Watch have reported a spate of visits to elderly people in their eighties by bogus police officers which has netted the crooks £1000.

The calls on Friday (11 January) at Beauxfield in Dover, Whitegates Close in Hythe and John Boley House in Cheriton  are not yet known to be linked.

However, on each occasion two men went to the properties and spoke about a water leak.

One thousand pounds was taken from one of the victim's homes.

Both offenders are described as white men. One was aged in his early 30s, 5ft 9in tall, of slim build, with short dark hair. The other was younger than the first man and of chubbier build with short dark hair.

Please make your elderly and vulnerable neighbours aware of answering the door without the safety chain in place and not letting anyone into their home that they do not know.
