Former police officer jailed following death crash

A former special constable who killed the driver of another car on the A258 at St Margarets, near Dover in 2006 has been jailed for three and a half years and banned from driving for five years.

Gary Tupper from Densole, appeared for sentence at Canterbury Crown Court on Monday (7 January) having admitted causing death by dangerous driving when sentence was adjourned for reports.

Driver of the other vehicle David Wilson, received serious chest injuries in the crash on November 12, 2006, and suffered cardiac arrest as he was being removed from the wreckage. He couldn't be revived.

Mr Wilson's passengers in the car, Carla Goodburn suffered a fractured neck, crushed ribs and memory loss and her son had cuts and concussion.
