Police are warning people of a man calling on Shepway homes and pretending to be a police officer.

He called at a house in Weymouth Road, Folkestone at midday (27 September) offering to sell a security box for £29. He showed a metal ID with 'police' written on it.

The man is described as aged between 20 and 30 with short dark hair about 5'9" tall and wearing dark clothing. It was noted that he had very white teeth.

At 12.50pm yesterday a man called at the home of a 97-year-old lady in Frampton Road, Hythe and forcefully entered the house telling the lady that there had been burglaries in the area.

He made off from the property having stolen the lady's purse.

This man was described as being white in his 20s with short dark hair and wearing jeans and a denim jacket with light coloured trainers. He had a round face.

At 8.40am today, Friday (28 September), another offence occurred, this time at St. Martins Road, Folkestone

The offender who is described as 6'tall with a moustache and was wearing a dark suit posed as a police officer, gained entry to the house and stole cash.
