Re: Councillors agree that Webster Way bollard should be removed 

The Parish Council's recommendation regarding the buffer strip issue was exactly, word for word, as I reported to you in my letter, and this recommendation would have been voted on by the council.

The councillor who reported to you should have quoted this recommendation, and not his or her interpretation of it.

Perhaps in future, for the sake of the Gazette's accuracy, any reports on parish council meetings should be checked for their veracity through the Clerk before printing them.

Editors note: Thank you for your comments. The Gazette has spoken today to a councillor attending the meeting who confirmed our story was correct. If readers wish to know 'word for word' what was discussed, they can visit the parish council website and read the minutes of the meetings for themselves. We will not be asking the parish clerk to check all parish council reports although where verification is needed we will continue our practice of double checking our stories.
