Folkestone TV star leaves £2.25m

The star of the 1970s television drama Telford’s Change, Peter Barkworth, who died last October aged 77, left the bulk of his art collection of 60 oil and watercolour paintings, including two John Constables, to the National Trust.

The actor, who had lived in Folkestone was unmarried.

He left £75,000 of his £2.25m estate to his sister Hazel, and the rest to David Wyn Jones, including his homes in Folkestone and Hampstead.
