ARSE acronym upsets local villagers

I came across this amusing snippet from the pages of the August edition of the fine newsletter from Alkham village.

Apparently following the Folkestone earthquake, a few residents of the village set up a society which meets at the local pub, called 'Alkham's Relieved Survivors of the Earthquake' (ARSE).

After publishing details of the group and where they meet, the newsletter received an email from an irate reader who was outraged at the acronym used by the society.

It is understood that now the hysteria has abated they are considering changing their name, such that it gives no offence.

Favourite is currently 'Residents Earthquake Committee Tackling Unresolved Matters'

Ed;)
