Patrols stepped up to combat Shepway rail yobs

Police are stepping up patrols following attacks on miniature railway trains, and vandalism to the track of the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway.

Recently large boulders were left on the tracks and children as young as 10 were reportedly throwing stones at passing trains near Palmarsh, West Hythe.

Car drivers also continue to ignore red lights at crossings and vandals have left graffiti on the railway's property.

It is feared such behaviour could lead to passengers being seriously injured and trains derailed.

Anyone who sees anything suspicious on the line should contact PCSO Cooper on 07772 225948.
