Re: Parish council react quickly to bollards meeting

This story is factually incorrect ! I did indeed propose a meeting and my invitation was addressed equally to the Clerk, Chair and vice chair of the Parish Council.

My purpose in calling this meeting was to bring together the Parish Council, District Councillors and the Partnership to determine an action plan to deal with issues of interest to the residents of Hawkinge and which quite frankly have been on the table for too long.

I suspect that the residents who voted for us are not interested in who is invited to road openings nor indeed how a private contractor chooses to contribute to the community. I believe we have been elected to work together and deal with the real issues that I have tabled.

I am pleased that the Parish Council has called a special meeting to debate these issues and hope that they can subsequently meet with myself and representatives from the Partnership as requested in order to take these matters forward.
