Two men, aged 25 and 26, were arrested early this morning (9 June) on suspicion of cruelty to an animal following reports of harassment against a dolphin.

Kent Police's Marine Unit has issued several warnings that anyone getting too close to Dave the dolphin could be arrested.

For over a year the friendly porpoise who has become a local tourist attraction, swims in the waters off Folkestone and Sandgate.

The two men, said to be from the Folkestone area, were being held under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981.
