History

Two 19th Century watercolours are being auctioned this month to raise cash to renovate the historic step lift carriage which will be brought back to the Leas in Folkestone once the £25,000 task is completed.

The paintings, owned by Leas Lift campaigner Robert Mouland were identified by experts from the BBC TV show Flog It when they held a valuation at the Leas Cliff Hall in April.

The auction is taking  place at Canterbury Auction Galleries in Station Road West, Canterbury between 10.30am and 3.30pm on 12 June.

If you would like to swell the fund currently standing at £4,000 log on to www.leaslift.org.uk.
