Re: Parish council has been little more than a 'talking shop'

What a breath of fresh air was the letter from Jean James.

I have been a member over the last four years and am close to admitting being ashamed of it.

My main concern and point of argument was always against the incredible waste of money as though it fell from a tap.

YOUR money - the ratepayers; taken from you without any choice to decide for or against crackpot schemes.

The division amongst members was evident and a joy to behold if your choice of entertainment is watching children's playgrounds. (Probably illegal these days)

The only councillors to come out of the melting pot with any credit are, Messrs. Peter Smith, John Punnett and Ms Joan Brisley.

My hope for the next four years is that Mrs James and Tony Hutt are elected next week to serve us for the next four years.

I certainly could not face another spell of what goes on behind the scenes.
