Only just heard of this lot http://freecycle.org ; they have a Folkestone Branch as well as one in Deal. Joining is free (via Yahoo) and then everything else is free too.

The Freecycle group matches people who have things they need to get rid of with people who can use them. Their aim is to keep usable items out of the landfill.

They say: "By using what we already have on this earth, we reduce consumerism, manufacture fewer goods, and lessen the impact on the earth. "

It's a very philanthropic 'don’t dump it offer it' on the web for free and see what others are offering for free. The free version of EBay!

Another benefit of using Freecycle is that it encourages us to get rid of junk that we no longer need and promote community involvement in the process. Free your inner pack rat!

Begun on July 25 2006, the Folkestone Freecycle group is a branch of an incredibly fast-growing international Freecycle movement, which began in the US and now has thousands of groups all over the world. Please help this group grow by spreading the word!
