Ok! I put my hands up; I was indeed one who voted in that poll.

I would have stood as a local Independent candidate, but after much thought, decided that as I'm no longer a resident of Hawkinge, I would be like most MP's, not actually living (full-time) in an area that I would, if elected, be representing.

So for those that are prepared to put their heads above the parapet, I wish them all good luck in the coming hustings.

For the rest of the pollsters I would urge them to do one last thing, that is go and vote for those people that will be representing them, after all, it is a bit hypocritical not to vote and just sit back on a sofa condemning the folks that mostly have the best interests of their fellow villagers and the village at heart.
